Mara's tribal Goddess's

The inspiration was Frida Kahlo, a Mexican goddess and it was created by the Catwalk by Tigi team using synthetic hair and material strips that were braided in sections and twisted around each other.

Here's how it's done

Warning I think this one should be left to the professionals.

Are you Ready For This..Mara Hoffman SS12

"Its the Mara Mexicana Show"!!!!!

When this collection first arrived at the showroom you can only imagine the excitement...... Lot's of flying tissue paper and "oooohs"and "ahhhhhhsss" as each piece  unpacked created further excitement to the last....

This collection is absolutely stunning and yet again Mara has created something fresh and new whilst not disappointing on the eye catching, rich, tribal prints. Mara Hoffman is known for her bohemian flair, so the presence of a live mariachi band at her Spring/Summer 2012 show wasn't the least bit unexpected. Presented at the Box atLincoln Center during New York Fashion Week, Hoffman's self-described "Mexican Mamas" featured a bevy of designs inspired by the women of Mexico, particularly legendary painter Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo was an inspirational sensation famed for her traditional Mexican paintings..Mara took these Mexican Embroideries to a whole new level of cool...mixed with a fresh pallet of whites and pinks..

Perhaps best known for her self-portraits, Kahlo's work is remembered for its "pain and passion", and its intense, vibrant colors. Her work has been celebrated in Mexico as emblematic of national and indigenous tradition, and by feminists for its uncompromising depiction of the female experience and form.

This season she added yarn-dyed stripes to compliment theflowered bursts and gorgeous panel printed Kaftan,

Using custom-designed silk prints manufactured in-house in the United States, Hoffman interlaced woodcut, tribal, woven, and geometric designs with neon embroidery and seed-beading to create a sultry, tropical-infused lineup of jumpsuits (long and short), sheer skirts, caftans, and tea-length column dresses. This is our absolute favourite piece from the collection...What a gem!

Rocking That bohemian Bling-The eye popping rope  jewellery is by Holst and Lee.

We love playing with color and texture and believe the pieces each have a story to themselves,” Natalie Holst, who founded the Brooklyn-based label with partner Rochelle Lee

Corresponding prints found their way into the models espadrille's.
Thus making us want to get all customised crazy at the showroom.
